The artwork is a moving sculpture that utilizes light to create captivating images through the use of acrylic disks engraved with computer-generated surfaces. These surfaces manipulate light rays, converging and dividing them itnto areas of light and shadow at a focal point. This technique is based on the principle of gravitational caustics. The disks rotate at a speed of one revolution per minute, allowing for the cyclical appearance and disappearance of six images. The caustics can either form a picture on the plane where the sculpture is fixed, or they can reflect sparkling light around the space.
The inspiration for this artwork stems from the artist’s experiences of entering cathedrals and observing the way in which they shape light setting up the mood for mystical experiences. It also draws upon the ancient traditional Chinese technique of “Magic mirrors,” which use copper sculpted surfaces to reflect life. Additionally, the artwork tells the story of Neo-Evemerism by drawing a parallel between stained glass and UFO observation through the western history of art, exploring in 7 pictures how these photographed or painted otherworldly UFO have the ability to transcend time and space through their theoretical “warp drive.” The artwork offers an immersive and thought-provoking experience, inviting the viewer to consider the relationship between light, technology, and the unknown.
This artwork not only invites the viewer to contemplate the interplay of light and technology, but also encourages them to expand their perspective and look beyond the confines of the artwork itself. The rotating disks and constantly changing images, as well as the sparkling light reflections, draw the viewer’s attention not only to the sculpture but also to the surrounding space. The use of the gravitational caustics and the evocation of the story of Neo-evemerism allows the viewer to look up the stars, and to consider the vastness of the universe and the mystery surrounding it. It encourages them to take a step back and look at the artwork in the context of the environment and their surroundings, rather than just focusing on the sculpture itself. The artwork thus invites the viewer to contemplate the relationship between humanity and the vastness of the cosmos, as well as the seemingly insignificant role of the individual in the face of the infinite.

L'œuvre d'art est une sculpture mobile qui utilise la lumière pour créer des images captivantes à travers l'utilisation de disques acryliques gravés de surfaces générées par ordinateur. Ces surfaces manipulent les rayons lumineux, les convergent et les divisent en zones de lumière et d'ombre en un point focal. Cette technique est basée sur le principe des caustiques gravitationnelles. Les disques tournent à une vitesse d'une révolution par minute, permettant l'apparition cyclique et la disparition de six images. Les caustiques peuvent soit former une image sur le plan où la sculpture est fixée, soit refléter une lumière étincelante dans l'espace.
L'inspiration pour cette œuvre d'art découle des expériences de l'artiste lorsqu'il entre dans des cathédrales et observe la façon dont elles façonnent la lumière, créant ainsi une ambiance propice aux expériences mystiques. Elle s'appuie également sur la technique traditionnelle chinoise ancienne des "miroirs magiques", qui utilisent des surfaces sculptées en cuivre pour refléter la vie. De plus, l'œuvre raconte l'histoire du Néo-Évémérisme en établissant un parallèle entre les vitraux et l'observation d'OVNI à travers l'histoire de l'art occidental, explorant en 7 images comment ces OVNI extraterrestres photographiés ou peints ont la capacité de transcender le temps et l'espace grâce à leur théorique "moteur de distorsion".
