The artwork BlackSun consists of a motorized arm and a mirror in its center. When a spectator is present, it starts to draw a disc on the wall in a circular motion, the size of the disc is relative to the proximity of the spectator to the wall. When he is very close the disc is very small. When very distant the disc grows bigger.
The work refers to the artist’s abilities as the legend says that mastery while drawing can be show by handdrawing a perfect circle in one continuous arm movement. The figure of the circle is an illustration of mathematical perfection, of which Enzo’s circle famous painting is an example.
The technical installation itself encourages the viewer to leave his or her mark on the wall while inviting the viewer to stand stil. This activity is inspred by meditation. The spectator stillness will become a perfect circle in minutes, that will darken the longer he stays.
L’œuvre d’art BlackSun se compose d’un bras motorisé et d’un miroir placé au centre. Lorsqu’un spectateur est présent, elle commence à dessiner un disque sur le mur en effectuant un mouvement circulaire. La taille du disque est relative à la proximité du spectateur avec le mur. Lorsqu’il est très proche, le disque est très petit. Lorsqu’il est très éloigné, le disque devient plus grand.
